Letter From the President
Dear Friends,
Thank you for allowing me to serve another term as Chair of the West Palm 100 Board of Directors. I'm excited about coming off of a very strong 2011 where we donated over $30,000 to local causes, had two outstanding signature events in our gala and golf tournament where we raised over $15,000, and maintained a very good membership roster. But that should not be good enough for us.
At a time where our friends and neighbors continue to struggle, we must do more to lend our hand.
In 2012, the tenth anniversary of West Palm 100, it is my hope to sustain a membership of over 100 strong. We must continue to identify dedicated leaders in the community to bring into our organization and lead it into the future.
Service is the backbone of our group and our Board has selected four great organizations as our main grant beneficiaries. I am particularly proud of our Charity of Choice, Rebuilding Together the Palm Beaches, who we will assist with projects to help homeless veterans. In addition, we'll be working with underserved children at Pat Reeves Village, partnering on education initiatives with the South Florida Science Museum, and distributing food through Feeding South Florida.
The West Palm 100 still knows how to throw a good party and with the help of some of the new restaurants opening in our city and of course with the support of our long time favorites, our signature "Happy Hour with a Cause" will continue to be the go to spot on the third Tuesday of the month.
We have decided to continue our "all- inclusive" membership price through our February happy hour. For $240, members will enjoy their yearly membership benefits, entrance to all happy hours, and one ticket to the annual Taste of West Palm 100 Gala on May 19 at the Downtown Waterfront Pavilion. You can still renew your yearly membership for only $100. These options are available for easy payment on our website. And remember all of your membership dues go to support our annual grant program.
I look forward to all of us working together in 2012 to benefit the children, families and neighborhoods of West Palm Beach.
Diane Buhler
Chair
